OUTREACH GRANTING CRITERIA - 2007

Must Haves

1. St. Mary’s involvement contributes to our community’s spiritual strength.
2. The organization qualifies as charitable under IRS Section 501(c)(3).
3. No more than 25% of their annual operating budget is for fundraising activity.
4. The organization is viable.
5. A St. Mary’s Outreach Granting Request Form is submitted.   

Priority Given

1. Organizations that serve the disadvantaged and underserved.
2. Organizations where a parish member is involved.
3. Organizations that are affiliated with the Episcopal Church or the Diocese of California.
4. Organizations who address pressing needs in the Bay Area.  

Consideration Given

1. Receives other Funding Sources
2. The impact of SMV Outreach’s grant on the organization
3. A trend in parish involvement
4. Maintaining a balance in seed money, grassroots, building for change, replicated impact, relief, development.
