Stewardship Season Update

In 2012, we took a new approach to stewardship at our parish under Father Scott’s guidance. First, Scott asked each of us to consider two questions: why do I love St. Mary’s? And, why do I choose to be generous in my pledge? Then, at each of three successive Sunday services, a parish member offered his or her personal answer to these questions.The result of the ingathering, and this year’s campaign generally, was very positive. 278 of us pledged for 2013, including over 65 new members, and we received pledges totaling over $745,000, up from $667,000 for all of 2012. The high number of new pledges is a good indicator of St. Mary’s overall health. Although it will take some doing in the new year, the Stewardship Committee is optimistic that once everyone has done their part, we will realize our goal of over 300 pledges and at least $750,000, an increase of well over 10 percent.
