The Well is a new community resource center that opened in March 2007. We provide a variety of informative, creative and fun programs to educate and nurture the community. We foster a casual and supportive environment where families and individuals can find guidance, inspiration and a vibrant sense of community.
The Well offers an array of activities including parent-child drop-in playgroups, parent education seminars, music classes (in conjunction with the Blue Bear School of Music), Tai Chi in the courtyard and ongoing CPR and First Aid classes. Check the on-line schedule for our current offerings.
For families in need of preparation and in-home coaching for the arrival of their child, experienced in parent education and household management, Jean A. Rowcliffe is available to help you organize your home and establish a schedule to help you at this busy and often overwhelming time.
We will continue to add more programs for all ages including teens, their parents and those who have reached retirement age. An exciting guest speaker series, yoga and further education classes are being planned for the autumn of 2007.
Our courtyard fountain is fed from a natural spring that runs through the city. The daily act of gathering water from a communal source to sustain life is as old as time. As the public well has grown to symbolize a meeting place for community, we take it as our name to remind us of a time- honored emblem of refuge and sustenance.
Already recognized as being an “oasis of calm and supportive friendship” for those families who attend, The Well welcomes all ages.
