Rise Against Hunger – January 25, 10:00 to noon
January 25
At this time when 815 million people in the world suffer from chronic hunger, please join us in packaging meals for an impoverished community in partnership with Rise Against Hunger. We will package the food, and RAH will then ship it to Asia, Africa, or Central America, where their local partner will distribute it to an impoverished community in need of food.
Everyone of all ages–parishioners, family members, friends and supporters—is invited to attend. This Spirit-filled, joyful, community-building event in the Epiphany season is an opportunity to share God’s grace in community and to show our gratitude for God’s many blessings and gifts to us— especially our abundance of food.
We’re planning for the parish’s community ministry budget to cover the cost of this event (packaged food and shipping costs). However, we also welcome donations at the event to help defray costs.
In prior years our parish volunteers have packaged a total of over 52,000 meals for the hungry in our global community. We’re hoping to package 10,000 meals at the upcoming event!
Please register at your earliest convenience as participation is limited.
