The Episcopal Church of St. Mary the Virgin
The people of Saint Mary’s seek to live into the Great Commandment
by loving God entirely and our neighbor mutually.
To help us accomplish our mission, we strive to
pray daily, worship weekly, learn constantly,
serve joyfully, and live generously.
Morning Prayer - October 5
We will observe Morning Prayer at the 8:00 a.m. service, Choral Morning Prayer at the 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. services, and celebrate an alternative Eucharist at 5:30 p.m. with the Rev. Eric Metoyer celebrating. This will be a Creation Care Sunday as we observe the feast of St. Francis of Assisi and Kathleen Bean will be preaching at all services. Join us for a rich service of Morning Prayer earlier in the day or come at 5:30 p.m. to receive Holy Communion and experience the new Evening Service.
First Sunday Feast
Our stewardship efforts this year celebrate and reinforce our connection and community. On October 5, we will provide a light lunch following the 11:00 a.m. service in the Great room, hosted by Roulhac and Tom Austin. The plan is to have monthly feast and conversation through the rest of the year.
Anglican Spirit Retreat
Saturday, October 25 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Thinking about being confirmed as an adult? Want to be received into the Episcopal Church from another Christian denomination? Want to learn more about what the Episcopal Church believes, holds valuable, and why it does what it does? Come to a Saturday morning half-day workshop led by the Rev. Scott Richardson and the Rev. Claire Ranna.
Parents of Young Children
Join other parents of young children to find more ways to engage in church programming and to find ways for parents and kids to socialize that fit within nap/ bedtime schedules. In order to better connect, we have set up a Facebook group where parents can plan activities, share ideas and generally support one another as we raise Christian children ini a very secular city. If you have a young child (newborn to school age) and would like to be a member of this group, visit https://www.facebook.com/groups/smvsf.parents/
