I am a Bay Area native who was raised in the Episcopal Church, and specifically the Church of
Our Saviour in Mill Valley. I went to grade school in San Francisco with my brothers and then to
St. Paul’s School in Concord, New Hampshire for high school, followed by college and law
school in the Boston area. Following a short stint in the Army, I spent three years in England,
obtaining a D. Phil. degree in administrative law. I always intended to return to San Francisco
and did so in 1977. Shortly afterwards, I joined the law firm of Hanson Bridgett LLP, where I
have practiced since that time, providing business and regulatory advice and representation to
health care providers and senior care communities.
I joined St. Mary’s in 1981 while living in Pacific Heights. My wife, Rebecca, and I were married
at St. Mary’s in 1989 and have been devoted members of the congregation since that time,
which has included two terms on the Vestry. We now live in Mill Valley in the house in which I
grew up and we happily commute to St. Mary’s each Sunday. I look forward to serving again
and to working with our clergy and congregation to help St. Mary’s continue as a living presence in all our lives.
