Rev. Kira Austin-Young recently served as priest-in-charge of St. Ann’s Episcopal Church in Nashville, TN. She has previously served as priest-in-charge of Church of the Epiphany, Lebanon, TN and as a chaplain resident at Monroe Carell Jr. Children Hospital at Vanderbilt. Originally from Dallas, Texas, she holds a Bachelor of Music degree in vocal performance from Rice University and a Master of Divinity degree from Vanderbilt University. Her book Pro-Choice and Christian: Reconciling Faith, Politics, and Justice came out in 2017, and she has been a contributing writer to publications out of Westminster-John Knox Press and the United Methodist Publishing House. She is married to art designer and Emmy award-winning puppeteer Michael Schupbach. Their dog, Ruth Bader Ginsbark, and cats, Tilda and Wallace, round out their household.
